I studied Art and Design in Glasgow after completing my secondary education and, following a break from the arts, returned to study Fine Art at Edinburgh College of Art between 1991 and 2005 where I completed a variety of courses/workshops. I now work as a professional artist from my home in Fife.
I paint in a semi-abstract style using acrylics (sometimes combined with mixed media) and get my inspiration from Scotland’s stunning scenery and surrounding coastlines where I try to capture the colour, light and textures in my work. I also have a keen interest in figurative work.
I have work in private collections throughout the UK, Europe, USA, New Zealand and Dubai. The NHS also purchased 9 paintings for permanent display at the local hospital in 2006.
I am willing to consider commissions.
Please note:
Having recently re-married some of my older works have been signed under my previous name of Marton
